Simple Sketches #22, Reflections

Hello, Everyone!

I've the latest and greatest sketch from Simple Sketches!  This is a sweet sketch.  To enter the challenge, click on the sketch to visit our home blog.

I didn't use the stitching suggestion on my sketch, as my sewing machine is currently traveling to another country!  I did keep the three areas of elements the same, but I did twist and shift the sketch.  The hearts didn't make it into my post either.

I've been freezing my butt off and I saw the beachy mood board for Scrap Around the World.  After going through 500 vacation pictures, I decided on these three.  Everyone played on the beach and in the ocean, but I played with my camera (also on the beach).  I was working, not on my tan, but on my reflections.  I captured the sunrise and two of my nieces.  And I didn't use any embarrassing photos.

Here is the mood board for Scrap Around the World.  As I said, "BEACH!"  I don't think I've been warm since November!  I also used white flowers and tried to keep my colors soft and dreamy.

The vintage book pages and buttons are from the Zeus and Zoe Etsy shop.  The two images on the book pages are of old swimsuits.

Wonderful Winter Day for Simple Sketches #20

Here is the latest sketch from Simple Sketches.  Sketch #20 could go fun and grungy, but I went for a vintage look, using the Scraps of Darkness December 2013 kit, Winter Wonderland.

This sketch has three spots for photos, but I used the same photo.  My grandmother came from a large family.  She had 11 sisters and brothers.  For this photo, only 10 of the kids could fit into the car.  Her older brothers had to stay home to do farm chores.  I stamped a heart on my grandmother's coat.  My great-grandmother is the lady with the big fur collar.  I left the journaling spot blank until I can have all of my information verified by my family.

Happy New Year! Drunken Stamper's Bonus Challenge

Happy New Year!  My DT coordinator thinks that we have sobered up enough to make a project and then post it!  Ha!  Here I am after sleeping off last night's drinks, posting my New Year's card a few hours late.

Above directions from our Drunken Toasters state: drinks or resolutions or whatever inspires you about the new year.
I went with drinks and resolutions.

I realize that there are times that I spend in the company of people that drive me nuts.  I would rather spend my time with the people I love and that love me back.  Stay away from those that make you bonkers.

The inside sentiment of the card:
New Year's Resolution: Spend time in the company of people that deserve your time and love.

I didn't get a chance to put that on the inside of my card.  My printer was being a brat and wouldn't print on card stock.

Here is a closer look at my ladies from Stamping Bella.  The quote on the front is a Riley's stamp.

Thanks for taking a look.  If you would like to spend your first weekend of the New Year with the Drunken Stampers, please click on the names below.
